All fashion, all the time

Way back before marriage and Miss A, I devoted a huge portion of my personal budget to building up a whole wardrobe of purses. Why purses? Well, unlike shoes, I consider purses to be somewhat like wearable art. (Well, carryable but you know what I mean, right?) While some women had closets full of shoes, I had hooks full of purses. *shrug* I don't believe I ever had more than 20 purses ever at a time - that of which I fully acknowledge is a lot of purses - but I had a lot. I had a WHOLE LOT. And though my personal taste and "dream" purse wardrobe is composed entirely of YSL, in reality I was willing to buy from just about any place that had any purse that peaked and held my interest.

Some of my favorite purses happened to come from Singapore. In my quest for beautiful and interesting purses, I got myself hooked up with a fashion buyer who specialized in accessories and used to find the most amazing purses overseas. I've since lost contact with her and almost abandoned my quest for building an amazing purse wardrobe but I still have almost all of the ones that I originally bought from her.

Tonight, Miss A discovered some of my most prized purses and *God bless her!* she has perhaps discovered her own love affair with incredible purses that are indeed wearable art if anything is. *sigh* I wouldn't want to pass my fashion torch on to anyone more than I do to Miss A...

Practice makes perfect

When I was little it was pretty standard for me to wear my hair in either a pony tail or in piggy tails. I must have been quite the squirmer when it came time to put them in because it was pretty much the norm for me to have a very crooked part. Well? Not so with Miss A!!! This is the second day that I've been able to wrestle her into some piggy tails and it's looking pretty good if I do say so myself! I mean, the placement is definitely a little off but at least the part is reasonably even...

Whatever. Even if it's not perfect I'm thinking that she can make it work however it ends up with a face like that. :)

Piggy tails

I have been waiting for this to be possible since 20 weeks into my pregnancy when I found out I was going to have a little girl! To me life just doesn't get very much sweeter than Miss A in pigtails...

21 months and counting

The other day I realized that I have posted hardly any still pictures on here. Truth be told, Miss A is in constant motion and it's just about impossible to get her to sit still long enough to take a decent enough picture. And for this reason I have just about abandoned the good ol' fashioned still camera.

Today Miss A was looking particularly adorable since I dressed her up for church. Her ensemble was comprised entirely of hand-me-downs and (granted) she could probably make even a paper bag look cute but I just looked at her today and realized how much of a darling little girl she is becoming. From her sweet little hair bow right down to her dainty little ballet flats, she's just about the cutest thing ever... EVER!!!

I never pictured myself with a daughter. God only knows that the reason why is probably because I feel like such a task is too incredible for me to handle. I feel like I don't know near enough about girlish things as I honestly should. Still? I know that God will never give me more than I can bear and for as much as I believe in God and all that he does, I'm finally believing whole-heartedly that perhaps I was cut out for this "job" of being a mother to a daughter. I guess it could be argued that perhaps I might not be doing the very best job in the world but I don't know... *shrug*... it sure seems like it's working out just fine to me...

Attention Grammy and Grandpap!

Miss A surprised us this evening with a very special message for two very special people who live way too far away. (The big moment you are waiting for starts right around 45 seconds in)

Attention Grandpap:It's looking like Miss A might be interested in changing your name to Pappap instead. *shrug* She's got her own agenda these days as she's recently decided to call me Mommy instead instead of Mama.

Money... I mean, COOKIES talk.

Are you aware that it's Girl Scout cookie season??!!! IT IS!!!!!

And because this time only comes once a year and it's so AWESOME, we broke all kinds of our regular rules and let Miss A spoil a little of her dinner with some Thin Mints. To say she wasn't excited about such an opportunity would be a serious understatement. No sooner had we put a cookie in her hand and she was spinning around doing her "Ring around the roses" dance.

She was also extra talkative for the camera and was all about obliging me with some of her new favorite words...

But the best part of the evening had to be what will henceforth be called "Amelia cam." Since she's such a curious little monkey-girl, she actually grabbed the camera with me and took it for a spin - LITERALLY. Ever wondered what it was like to be Miss A? Here's your big chance to pretend like you're on her level and in her shoes... (nevermind the fuzziness of the picture - it's because just before she took over the camera, she kissed the lens with her greasy thin mint lips!)
